Punch-in-the-stomach Week

Never shall i forget.. the hectic-est week in my entire life.. you won't be able to survive this if you were any less tougher than me *proud* yea, Electronic Engineering course, year 2, sem 2, week 12, you'd carve yourself in my brain and i will never forget bout you.. imagine 2 presentations, 2 assignments and a test, all cramped in a single week and the best thing is, all were last minute jobs..

I did some part, but the credits should really go to my teammates as they really did a hard work to ensure the software is literally bug-free.. so sorry i can't help much, i suck in programming =.= and so, the week ended with a nice Christmas which i spent at home, doing things i like most, listening to soft music and to read some extra-curricular books (not the dirty ones), didn't get the chance to go for countdown this year, haih..

This week, especially Saturday, i'd been given a really really and very very important task that might determine the path of my future (exaggerated much) haha.. but, i'll still have to make the decision between furthering my studies to either Aus or KL..

Frankly speaking, KL, i have friends there, i can retain my baby desktop (and will not have to buy a lower spec laptop), the fee is cheaper, and everywhere in KL is easily accessible (minus the traffic jams which my friends kept complaining about) Aus, in the other hand, is a better place to study (i guess) and i'll have the chance to finally take a ride on an airplane *woohoo* but yet, i'll have to work to pay part of my tuition fees and can hardly meet my family... I have a feeling dad prefers Aus, he said i should learn the difficulties to earn money and at least strive in life to get things done, he is, however afraid of me getting too much freedom in KL.. i mean, come on, everything is so near to you.. me too, concern for my studies in KL, way too much distraction there... Seriously, Aus will be a better place to study compared to KL.. its really a hard decision to make.. now, the second problem, i'm not too sure whether do universities in Aus recognize my diploma.. can start to find unis in KL if the universities there don't recognize my paper.. Same problem goes to KL too.. regretted studying in TARC la, seriously, should go for SAM or A-levels instead..

well, its T minus 2weeks to exams.. guess i'll have to cut on usage of internet and start hammering my head to course-related books.. hate this point of time every sem =.= btw, wish every of my blog followers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.. =]

Done Playing

Had a tough week, have done 3 tests.. the coming week? its 1 test, 2 presentations and 2 or 3 assignments due... stressful week i had but to suppress it, i did 'SOME' gaming.. yea.. just 'SOME'.. =]

It started with Left 4 dead 2.. the zombie game.. the game play was similar to the previous version - Left 4 Dead, just with some additional zombies, weapons and maps.. might had some tweaks in the engine or graphics system, but i could barely notice it.. i still prefer playing this game with friends (which i did, in my house).. the game wasn't much a wait-worthy game.. nothing special indeed..

Next was the highly anticipated Call of Duty 6 : Modern Warfare 2.. I was crossing my fingers for the game to be released ASAP once finishing CoD4 and CoD5.. Was CoD6 a game worth playing? well, to me, i'll give it a 80% yes.. which also means that im rating this game a 80 out of 100.. why is it so? the game play was fabulous (the storyline, the switching of characters, and the challenging enemies, the maps and a whole lot of additional weapons), the graphic gave a 100% satisfaction (till now i still can't believe my computer managed to support this game to the max resolution @.@ amazing...) by now, you would be wondering, where did the other 20% went.. they were for the short game play.. the game ended when i started to get familiar with the controls.. i was like : erm, what happened? why the credits pop out of the sudden? and then, i realized, the game indeed ended.. was so damn disappointed, man..(managed to finish the game in 3 days, 4hours per day) =.= by the way, it was really a great game, keep up the good work, activision and infinity ward..

Was a fan of war-driven and strategy games since i started playing games on the computer.. i was in standard 5 back then and the 1st ever game i played was the infamous Red Alert 2 by EA.. i still love the game much, but the 3rd version was a failure.. i don't know why did the developers stopped using the concept of 'different countries with different specialties' as in USA for its paratroopers, Germany for its grand cannon and so on...

Alright, was talking too much about games.. should really go get some sleep.. its almost 4 in the morning =.= That's all folks, will be updating later.. =] thaks so much for stopping by.. Chaoz..

I Reveal.. The Source..

It had been almost a couple of months since i get myself involved in the world of economics/business/investments, and i'm gonna reveal here, right now, the source of all these craziness..

Remember, in this post, where i mentioned about buying and starting to read the book 'Rich Dad Poor Dad'? Things had pretty much changed since i started reading this book, the way i look at things and the way i study had been different, more changes have yet to come..

In school, as an engineering student, our lecturers usually ask us 'How will you explain this to your BOSS?' or 'If your BOSS asked you to do this..' These statements don't really bother me much earlier, but getting through the book made i realize, why on earth was i so foolish to have taken up this course? (no offense to all the engineering students out there) Lets just assume i've gotten my degree in engineering and had graduated as a qualified professional engineer, what will i do in the future? of course i'll be what i was trained to be -an engineer, yet, after all those hard work to get the degree, i'm still an employee to someone, and will never get the chance to earn a fortune if things stayed in that way..

Like what i had mentioned in the previous post, i'm definitely not those who doesn't care even if i'm broke at the end of every month.. even highly-paid senior engineers have to get broke every end of the year for having to pay their income taxes.. [Another lesson learned from 'RDPD', the medium and poor stays poor for having to pay their taxes and uncontrolled spending due to a rise in salary; meanwhile, the rich stays rich and gets richer by time because they do not have to shred their pockets to pay for income taxes and they are wise enough to let money work for them, not themselves working for money]

One of the way to let money work for you is by investing.. you'll earn a fortune if stock prices goes up and you don't have to pay a single penny for income tax at the end of the year.. how nice.. but this is will only come true provided that you chose the right company to invest in..

Choosing a good company to invest in is crucial, choosing when to invest in that particular company is not less important.. Hence, i have borrowed a few books regarding on ways the World's Greatest Investor chooses his company from the library.. I have to admit that i can't fully understand what were the books talking about, there were some sophisticated terms but i do have a rough idea on how its done and will continue to refer to those books in the future..

Books i read:

(some of the books were pretty old, 'The Warren Buffett Way' was published in 1995, but good knowledge never gets old, right? =] )

Book that i'm currently reading:

One of the best thing about Buffett is that he never bother to keep an eye on the stock market and will stay away from any other speculations about the market.. He'll only check out prices of stocks in the stock market when he has a company to invest in mind..

There are a whole lot more to be learned and i have not even got myself started on economics although i have one of those big economic book sitting on my desk... LOL..

Traumatized

Ever heard of someone spending 7hours plus in PC fair and yet not an exhibitor there? Apparently you are browsing through that guy's blog =.= i'd went to pc fair with dad and three other groups of friends.. the last trip was obviously the most awkward cause exhibitors there must had wondered why in hell is this guy still here, didn't i just saw him in the morning and afternoon?

All thanks to my classmates.. i'd stated myself clear when they first asked me out that if they were to go to pc fair, i will not follow.. they managed to convince me to get in the car and told me their plans for the night.. guess where? and there's no turn-back, the car was already moving and i didn't really plan to be the next jackie chan to jump off the car just to avoid going to pc fair, would make headline in papers the next day..

And... did i mention the part where i spent only 4bucks in pc fair for the car park fee?

Broke A Promise For A Buddy

When a problem arises between a newer friends and a long time buddy, a buddy since primary school days i meant, no doubt i'll stand by my buddy's side, even though that means breaking a promise at the very last moment .. although breaking that promise means making the other party mad and even hate me, all i can say is, non of that is more important then standing by my buddy's side when he is in a problem..

Now all i can do is to apologize to that newer friend.. trust me, i do feel bad when i had to make that decision.. i know how hard was it for you to handle the situation back then, but to me, that was the right thing to do, and given a chance to choose sides again, i'll still stand to my buddy's side..

To that new friend : I'm sorry for breaking the promise at the very last minute and i apologize for all the inconvenience caused..

Not so Great Job

I really consider myself the laziest man alive now.. i have so many things to do but those things were just least of my concern.. all i care is to sit in front of my comp and stare at the screen.. but, there were times when i can do nothing with the comp, so i go to the living room to just.. do nothing.. the point is.. i have no mood at all to do anything at all..

I'm just asking myself constantly, what should i do? why am i wasting my time studying electronic stuff where i have zero interest in it? why does going to college seem so torturing for me? why do i always feel being left out in academics in school? The thing is, i know i can and will excel in the field of engineering if i had interest in it, but for now, i do feel it is a total waste of time and money taking up this course. I don't want and will not like to get paid for my job in the future, the its-the-end-of-the-month-and-i'm-broke kinda lifestyle just doesn't suit me.

I'm currently documenting the some of the ways Warren Buffett chooses his company to invest in while i should be doing my studies on the coming test.. i'm being forced to something i don't like (studying for tests & doing assignments) and it does make me feel bad if i don't do so, that is why i do it, but at the very last minute. I'm being forced by no one, but my own silliness for choosing this course in the beginning, i'd love to get myself involved in the world of business , with the economics, shares, stocks, annual reports, mammoth takeovers and stuffs.. but loving these things is like a sin for me now as they are not my part of my studies.. For now, the only thing i look forward to is to finish my current course ASAP and leave the field of engineering for good..

For some, you've realized i'd not updated my blog for quite some time.. my apologies.. wasn't in the mood for blogging till now.. and was in a dilemma, for many things.. so, now here, the latest post.. =]
